Monday 16th 
Painting on the Coast (Workshop) 
2 – 5pm, £36 (materials provided), St Ives Society of Artists, Mariners Gallery, Norway Square. 
Open your senses and explore the relationship between land and sea in this outdoor painting workshop with local artist Ria Poole. Using a mindful, playful and expressive approach, you will paint on the coast in acrylics and mixed media. Please wear warm old clothes and bring something to sit on. All materials provided; all abilities welcome. 6 places only. www.riapoole.com 
 
Wed 18th 
Dynamic Watercolours with Jane Betteridge (Workshop) 
10.30am – 1pm, £12 (materials included), St Ives Society of Artists, Mariners Gallery, Norway Square. 
Paint a seascape exploring the unique properties of watercolour and take it to another level by adding some texture, making ingredients such as salt, inks, granulation fluid, texture pastes and cling film. Jane Betteridge is a qualified adult education tutor whose inspiration is drawn from the landscape of countryside and seaside. 
Thursday 19th 
Painting Outside with Earth Pigments (Workshop) 
10am – 4pm, £60 (all materials included), St Ives Society of Artists, Mariners Gallery, Norway Square. 
Immerse yourself in a day of painting with natural pigments. We will paint outside and use the Arts Society to make paint, processing pure pigments and learning how to apply different binders. The pigments have a unique 
story to tell and painting relates to and deepens our connection to the environment. 
Friday 20th 
Developing a Creative Sketchbook with Elaine Turnbull (Workshop) 
10.30am – 1pm, £13.50 (including sketchbook), St Ives Society of Artists, Mariners Gallery, Norway Square. 
Banish the fear of the first blank page in your sketchbook! An informal approach, looking at Elaine’s sketchbooks as a starting point. Work with a variety of mixed media drawing and painting techniques to develop your visual language and create lively pages in your sketchbook.

Saturday 21st from 4pm 
SQUARE DEAL & DONATED PICTURE SHOW 
Members work on 10″ Square Canvases all at £50 plus a selection of donated works at Commission free prices. Come early as this event is extremely popular. Display will continue until 28th September.

Tonal Drawing and Painting on the Coast (Workshop) 
10am – 3pm, £30, The Crypt Gallery, Norway Square. 
Paul Wadsworth will guide you in expressive tonal painting and drawing responding to the coast. It will be an expressive approach using palette knives, rags, hands and card. All materials provided. 
 
Exploring a Line with Sue Dove (Workshop) 
10.30am – 1pm, £15 (materials included), St Ives Society of Artists, Mariners Gallery, Norway Square. 
Using black acrylic we will make long thin paintings … playing with line and shapes … then isolating areas of our drawings/paintings with collage.
