Zoe Eaton
Zoe Is a a self- employed artist, and art tutor, living and working in St.Ives. Before moving to St.Ives in 2010, I taught art in adult education, community projects and prisons. I exhibited widely in Milton Keynes, Art Fairs and galleries in Oxford and Windsor.
I established Barnoon workshop with my husband, an artspace in St.Ives - combining teaching art workshops with my own painting.
I became a member of the St Ives Society of Artists in 2020.
I mostly use oil and acrylic paint, collage and drawing media to create colourful, abstract images. My work is concerned with improvised forms and mark making, like the random beauty that is found in nature. I begin a piece and improvise at each stage, then reacting to previous marks, slowly building up the painting until I fell that it is finished. Sometimes this process can be fairly quick and sometimes the paintings take many years to realise.
