In 2001 I relocated to
Carbis Bay after 30 years visiting Cornwall. During this time my
development in painting had changed to the style you see today. My
love for music, interest in pre and post Roman Britain and now
submerged in the beauty of Penwith, a remote enigmatic pagan
landscape with the relationship of land and sea, all has helped push
the development of my work. I find the positive aspect of working in
the non-figurative style gives me the freedom to use all these
influences, but do not strive for interpretation of my paintings,
the painting represents nothing but itself. Influences in art at
this tome are the Pre-Raphaelites, the German romantics, Gerhard
Richter and Anselm Kiefer |
