Ray Denton
Ray Denton was born in Lambeth, London, but brought up in West Yorkshire.   At the age of 16 he won a place at Leeds College of Art.  He gained an Intermediate Award in Arts and Crafts.   Graduated with an NDD in Illustration in 1960.   This was followed by a post graduate course in illustration.   At this time Harry Thrubron was head of the School of Painting who had a profound influence on the college, bringing in established painters like Patrick Heron, Terry Frost and Victor Passmore.

1962:   Worked as Company Designer for Ilford Films.   
1970:  moved to Longmans (studio/production manager)   
1980:  freelance book design and illustration
1996:  moved to Cornwall.   Member of Penzance Society of Artists.
