Russell Hedges
Russell moved to Cornwall in the mid-sixties. He went to Norwich School of Art for his first degree, then to Chelsea School of Art for an MA.
He has exhibited in Spain and Germany, throughout England, as well as the Royal Academy, London and has had many solo shows in Cornwall, including the Royal Cornwall Museum, Truro.
Artist's Statement
My recent paintings 'SOUNDINGS' , emphasise the essential colour-moment modulations, along with the rhythms and sequences of the sea.
I feel that these painted vibrations can be perceived either as frozen or sustained colour chords or cadences, or movements of scales and harmonic progressions of colour
