Gabrielle Hawkes has lived and worked in St. Just, Cornwall since 1982. She finds inspiration in the interplay between inner and outer landscapes, drawing upon dream, myth and personal symbolism as well as the coastal environment.
Her vivid paintings are often moonlit, have a visionary quality to them and retain a dimension of humour and surprise. She also likes painting cats and is open to commissions. Gabrielle is also a printmaker, specialising in limited edition screenprints and wood engravings. She has been a member of Penwith Printmakers for many years.
